Thirteen park sledding hills across the three cities, plus groomed cross-country ski trails and where to rent skis.
Fargo
Hours: weekdays 4-8 p.m., weekends noon-8 p.m.; closed December 24-25.[2][3] Same hours at both hills.[1] Rules: no metal saucers, toboggans, sleds with metal runners, or cardboard; up to four sleds per group; no snowboards or skis on the hill; stay inside the straw-bale or fenced lanes.[1]

Moorhead
Kid-friendly hills at Horn Park, Riverview Estates Park, Romkey Park, Woodlawn Park, Village Green Sixth Park, and Viking Ship Park (that hill is built for Frostival).[4]
Cross-country skiing & snowshoeing
- Fargo - Edgewood Chalet: trails on the Edgewood golf course. Ski rental $15 adults, $8 youth; snowshoes $8; equipment stays on site.[2]
- Moorhead - eight groomed trails: Gooseberry Park (3.1 mi), M. B. Johnson Park (3.0 mi), River Oaks Park (2.4 mi), Viking Ship South (2.0 mi), Viking Ship / Memorial / Riverfront Parks (1.9 mi), Homestead (1.2 mi), Horn Park (1.1 mi), and Woodlawn Park (0.9 mi). The city's page shows whether each one is open.[4]
- Moorhead rentals: skis and snowshoes at the Hjemkomst Center for use around Viking Ship Park - Saturdays 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., December 12, 2026 to February 28, 2027, weather permitting; cash or check only.[4]
